The Short Story About Us
I'm Jennifer Moore. I pestered my dad for almost two years about selling our beef direct-to-consumer, and I finally wore him down. But, even though I may be the one who was persistent enough to convince him, I proudly admit I am NOT the brains behind the ranching side of things.
My parents, Dale and Mary Moore, opened their feedyard in 2000, while simultaneously running their cow/calf operation. Admittedly, my sister and I both were pretty far removed from the entire business. So much so, that it is shocking to both of us that we ended up where we are today. I work in food and agriculture full-time and my sister, Jillian, runs the books alongside my mom for the feedyard.
It's no secret that agriculture and ranching is a tough business, and our parents were not immune to that, which is probably why it never looked appealing. However, as of today, we are very fortunate to be able to say that through their countless hours of hard work, innovation and a true desire to make the best beef, they made it.
So what changed? How'd they turn things around? Well, they looked at consumer demand and they innovated. In 2014, they transitioned to third-party verification as a way to add value to their operation on both the feedyard and ranch side. Since then, that transition has made the world of difference. To put it bluntly, it's what kept them from going broke. They are proud to be verified so brands and consumers alike can have confidence in their beef.
They were awarded the Certified Angus Beef Small Feedyard of the Year Award in 2008 and have since had 38% of the feedyard's cattle consistently grade Prime. To put that into perspective, the industry average is 5%. When you purchase from us, you're getting the best of the best!
We are honored to sell to some of the highest quality beef brands in the country.
So, what does that mean for you?
When you eat Two Daughters Meat Co., you are eating the same
